Mendip ladies went to Tall Pines on 13/07/26 to play their return ICL match. Unfortunately Mendip lost 7-0. It was very hot and windy, and the course and the opponents proved too much for them on the day.

The ladies Centenary Plate team of Jenny Ahlberg and Rosemary Brown managed to beat Cricket St Thomas at Wheathill to progress to the semi-finals of the Somerset Ladies Centenary Plate. A closely fought match was won on the 19th hole!

On a hot, sunny July afternoon The Mendip Seniors ventured to Tidworth Garrison and retained the Tidworth Cup. Facing a challenging deficit from the first leg, the Tidworth Seniors put on a strong fight and won 5-2 on the day. However, it wasn't enough and The Mendip Seniors came out overall winners 8.5-5.5.

Special mention to chairman, Alan Edwards, who played a magnificent one-handed, back-handed bunker shot on the 16th to 6 feet (and sank the putt!). Sadly, the TV cameras didn't catch it as they were all at Royal Birkdale. Captain Paul Godwin and partner Colin Davies, brought the trophy home with a win, added to with halves from Mark Necker & Robert Miller and Steven Ball & Dave Pilbeam.

On another glorious summer’s afternoon in Somerset, The Mendip Seniors took on Long Ashton Seniors in the return fixture on this year’s calendar. Facing a 2-4 deficit from the away fixture the home team responded well to match this result, culminating in an aggregate score of 6-6, so honours even for this season.

Playing their second game in two days, The Mendip Seniors travelled to Bristol & Clifton for another "return" fixture defending a 4-2 lead. On a track set up in excellent condition, the home team proved a little too strong and came out 4.5-1.5 winners. This meant a disappointing 6.5-5.5 aggregate defeat for Godwin's Green & White Warriors but they are back in the saddle next Monday welcoming Saltford Seniors at home on hallowed turf.

Avalon CtTeam faced a strong challenge at home against Worlebury Royals B.. A closely contested match resulted in a 3-2 loss, with some very tight matches. Congratulations to David Goldie who had a hole-in-one on the 8th hole, helping to win his match with Richard Clifford.
