The Mendip Ladies Friendly team entertained Wells in an inter-club match at home on Monday, 15th June. This was a closely fought match with several matches decided on the 18th hole. The final result was a 2.5 to 2.5 draw but good spirits and camaraderie were the real winners on the day.

Friendly match number 18 of the season saw The Mendip Seniors host the return fixture against Worlebury. On an afternoon perfect for golf The Mendip battled it out for a 3.5-2.5 win.

This, added to the away match result of 3-3, gave The Mendip a 6.5-5.5 aggregate victory. Special mention must go to Mendip's own Ken "The Postman" Langridge (i.e. he never fails to deliver) who, along with Simon Atkinson, extended his unbeaten run to a splendid 11 games!

What a difference two days can make! After a good home win on Tuesday, the jubilant Mendip Seniors travelled the short distance to Bath on a warm, humid June afternoon. Unfortunately, the visiting team found the greens, although good, a little tricky and their bubble was burst by a very strong home team who ran out 5.5 - 0.5 winners. A lot of work to be done, then, in the return fixture next week!
