Wells Golf Club held the popular annual Christmas Greensomes Bring and Win competition last week. After much nail-biting, the day was dry, still and mild. Perfect for a multitude of Christmas Santas and elves to take on the course.

The winners were Kevin Horrell and Debs Ramsell with 35 points and bagging themselves first choice from an array of wrapped gifts of all shapes and sizes.

Christmas jumpers were in abundance and everyone went home with a prize of some sort.

Winning outfits were Len Sweales and Gwyn Macdonald. Great effort and now it’s definitely Chriiiisssstttmaaasssss!

The Seniors’ Winter Bowmaker was held on a nice balmy winter’s day. Mild, slight wind and most importantly, not raining! The course had dried up well this week but it did mean the mud was sticky. Everyone had a good day and took advantage of the ‘Christmas season’ winter rules.

The winners were: Peter Leverick, Bill McCollum and (that man again!) Tony Duffin, with 87 points.

Second were Martin Barnes, Richard Birch and Steve Clark with 85 points.

Third were Dean Hamilton, Roy Elliott and David Baker with 83 points.
