A nett score of 60 was enough to see Pat Cray claim the September medal in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club. It also saw him confirmed as Player of the Year after a close contest with Bob Smith. Second in the medal was Nick Foxwell, who had a nett 62, with Geoff Hallett, third with 63.
The Seniors’ long trek to Brinkworth to play Woodbridge Park saw them return with just half a point after a 4.5–0.5
defeat. Acting Captain, George Underwood, and Allen Cheney prevented the whitewash, winning the last two holes to level things up. Pete Fitch and Malcolm Tucker were all square with three holes to go, but eventually finished two down while Cray and Mike Ricketts lost 2&1. Cyril Blacker and Gerry Rowell were defeated 6&5, and the Bath pairing of Arthur Bellinger and Terry Button were on the wrong end of a 7&6 scoreline.
