The Farrington Park Ladies AGM Salver on 12th October marked the end of the Ladies’ Captain’s year for Pauline Young, and the beginning for Rosi Brown as Ladies’ Captain.
A large field of 37 ladies competed for the Salver, a qualifying stableford, which was played on a warm sunny Autumnal day.
The scoring of recent weeks had been modest, but in contrast on Thursday, several ladies submitted some excellent scores, with the top three understandably believing they had won the trophy.
It was Lo Dallocco who took first prize, with 41 points on count-back. In second was Bobby Appleby, also with 41 points. In third place was Tracy Grist with 39 points. In fourth was June Symonds with 35 points on count-back, fifth was Jackie Walker, also with 35 points on count-back, and sixth was Pauline Young with 34 points.
In the evening, the Ladies Section held their AGM. Pauline, in her Captain’s report, praised the supportive Ladies’ committee, and many other Ladies who had helped to make her year as Captain very successful and enjoyable.
Pauline thanked everyone for their generosity in helping to raise an amazing £2,787.49 for the RSPCA. Pauline also presented Jean Sage with an orchid and a gift for the many years she had been Somerset Ladies County Delegate, and for the support she has given to the section.
After the official handover, Rosi Brown thanked Pauline for an excellent and well-organised year, and presented Pauline with flowers and a financial gift from all the ladies.
