Another week and the weather much the same: windy, sunny, rain; sometimes all three in one day! Roll on October when the clocks go back – we can have a proper old moan then!

A good entry of almost seventy golfers turned out for the Romaine Tantalus. Now, a tantalus is a full decanter set in a wooden cabinet which is normally locked to stop the servants nicking the booze. Sadly, ours has no key, so is unlocked and empty! Traditionally, the winner fills up the decanter, but inexplicably this tradition seems to have fallen by the wayside. Maybe next year!

Winning Division One was Dave Harvey with 40 points, thus winning the Romaine Tantalus. Second was Ham Ridene 34 and third was Jim Lunt with 33.

Winning Division Two was Phil Toogood with 39, followed by Don Perry (36) and Mike Woodward (36). Division Three was won by Alan Bishop with 39, followed by Andy Smart (36) and Alan Smith (35).
