There is very little that beats sitting on a sunny patio at Farrington Park drinking an ice cold beer. Even a poor round of golf doesn’t seem quite so bad in the sunshine.
It was only a few weeks ago that winter rules were still in place due to the incessant rain we had experienced. Now the fairways are so dry and the ball running so long that the mighty Rory would be more than impressed!
Sixty nine players took part in the annual event for the Ray Vickers Trophy. Some excellent scoring but none better than the 92 points amassed by the winning trio of Phil Toogood, Pete Ross and Barry Hall.

Third: Pete Nash, Brian Brown, Jamie Goudie 85,
Fourth: Alan Skivington, Colin Hawkins, Steve Cope 85,
Fifth: Laurence Barlow, Geoff Clare, Dave Metcalfe 84,
Sixth: Phil Thompson, Roy Matthews, Paul Brown 84.
There were a total of 10 for the 2s’ pot with ‘Tommo’ claiming three of them! The highlight being an Eagle 2 on the 12th hole.
No friendly matches to report on but we are home to The Bristol on Tuesday, 6th June and away to Tall Pines on the 8th. Rob Thain
