There was a close finish to the Committee Cup in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club, with Alan White and Frank Reeves winning the greensomes event by just just one stroke.
Their nett total of 63 saw off the challenge of second-placed John Waters and Alan Vowell. In third place with a nett-67 were Competition Secretary, Doug Lane, and his partner, Phil Moody.
The consistent Lane again featured strongly in the Eric James Cup, but he was pipped by Seniors’ Captain, Gerry Rowell. The bogey competition rewards a nett-birdie or eagle with a plus, a nett-par with a nought and penalises a nett-bogey with a minus. Rowell finished in first place with +5; Lane had +4 and Fixture Secretary, Howard Nowell, was third with 0.
