Retired postman, Graham Edgell, certainly delivered in the latest series of competitions in the Senior section of Fosseway Golf Club, winning both the Fouracres Trophy and the rearranged June medal.
Edgell paired up with Cyril Blacker to triumph in the Fouracres pairs medal. Blacker had an excellent nett-60, and the 129 combined totals of the pair saw them win by three shots from Doug Lane and John Smart. Bert Austin and Seniors’ Captain, Gerry Rowell, were third with a nett-136.
Scoring proved difficult in the medal event, but once again, Edgell and Lane were to the fore. Edgell won the competition with a nett-66, while Lane finished two shots behind in second place. Mike Ricketts was third with a nett-71.
