Nick Foxwell and Malcolm Tucker proved to be a winning combination in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club, taking the Fouracres Trophy by a clear twelve shots.

With Tucker carding a nett 62 and Foxwell a nett 63, their combined nett total of 125 saw them convincing winners. John Williams and Bert Austin came in second with a nett 137, with Pat Cray and Alan Jones third on 139.

Competition Secretary, Doug Lane, continued his fine run with another first place, this time in the Roger Tabb Cup.

He joined up with Paul Davies to win the cup with a nett 67. Three pairs finished one shot further back with countback needed to sort them out.

In the outcome, Allen Cheney and Cyril Blacker finished second, with Martyn Cuer and Harold Ledbitter third. Jones and Frank Reeves were the unlucky couple to miss out.

Meanwhile, the Seniors Section will once again hold a charity day on October 22nd in aid of the Poppy Appeal. Last year’s inaugural event proved an overwhelming success and there will be a special medal for the winner.
