Fosseway Seniors’ annual turkey trot competition proved a close-run affair.

The Texas Scramble format saw the results table stuffed with a clutch of low scores. First, Noel Chatfield and his wing man, John Smart, thought their Christmas had come early, sinking some huge puts to set a challenging net 48.

Not to be outdone, Paul Davies and Reg Curtis then became the pick of the crop, topping the leader board with a net 47. However, in the final reckoning no one could keep up with Alan Jones and club captain, Gerry ‘Rooster’ Rowell, who recorded an incredible net 46.
