Graham and Dilys Edgell are the new holders of the Joe Hawkins Cup in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club after combining to win the annual Puttsomes competition on a beautiful summer’s afternoon.
The popular event sees the men play the shots to the green with the ladies taking over to tackle the putting. Graham and Dilys won with a nett score of 39.5, followed by Cyril and Tracey Blacker (41.5) and Alan and Helen White with a nett 43.5. Leanne Dix won the prize for the best lady putter with Malcolm Tucker picking up the prize for the best tee to green score.
The September medal proved to be a very close contest with Paul Trigg eventually winning with a nett score of 62. One shot behind came Martyn Cuer and Mike Ricketts with Cuer claiming second place after count back.
Fixture secretary Howard Nowell lifted the Eric James Cup with a fine score of +5 in the bogey competition. On each hole a nett birdie or eagle gives you a plus, a nett par is a zero and a nett bogie or worse punishes you with a minus.
