In 2017, the Captains of Wells Golf Club decided that one of the charities they would raise funds for throughout the year would be the locally-based charity, The Atmospherics Trust.

Founded and run by husband and wife team, Sheenah and Paul Wallis, the Coxley-based charity offers relaxation therapies for people with mental and physical disabilities. With a significant reduction in government funding, the charity relies heavily on a combination of self-funding patients and other donations.

Stuart Mann, Club Captain of Wells Golf Club for 2017, said: “The work done by Sheenah, Paul and their team was an inspiration to myself and the other Captains, and it was a pleasure to be able to support them. Our contribution of £3,338 will help the charity a lot.”

The money raised will help towards subsidising clients who are unable to afford to attend The Atmospherics Trust therapy sessions due to a lack of funding.
