The Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club suffered a narrow defeat in their penultimate social match of the season in their return fixture away to Whitley. They were eventually beaten three point five to two point five with several games going to the last green.

Mike Ricketts and Malcolm Tucker ended their game two up and Richard Dancey and Paul Trigg finished one up. Phil Winsley and Paul Ellis were one up with one hole to play before halving their match.

In another close contest, Allen Cheney and Cyril Blacker were one down at the end, captain Fran Dance and Chris Appleton lostthree and two and Howard Nowell and Mike Weeks were beaten seven and six.

Graham Edgell was the clear winner of the August medal with an impressive nett total of sixty. Alan White was some six shots behind with a nett score of sixty six with Noel Chatfield third on sixty nine. M Tucker
