The Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club finished their home fixtures for the season with an impressive 6–0 success over Cannington. It once again emphasised the importance of home advantage, after Fosseway had lost the earlier match at Cannington 5½–1½.
Allen Cheney and Terry Button were both in top form in their 6&5 win and there was a similarly impressive scoreline for Vice-Captain, George Underwood and Denis White. John Appleton maintained his strong season with a 4&2 success alongside Gerry Rowell, while Pat Cray and Frank Reeves won 4&3. The successful afternoon was completed by Mike Ricketts and John Bendle and Bob Smith and Graham Edgell who won their matches 2&1.
The final of the Winter League has now taken place with Smith beating Cheney 5&4. Cheney, who beat Ken Tucker in the semi-final, found the task of giving the in-form Smith nine shots just a mountain too high.
