Sport is back on the menu with spectators returning to the terraces and lining the fairways once more.
It has been very strange watching professional sport with no spectators present. It just doesn’t seem quite so interesting!
Congratulations to American, Phil Mickleson on becoming the oldest man at fifty years of age to win a major title in winning the US PGA Championship at Kiawah Island.
Dave Brain, although a little older than Mickleson, is also hitting great form in recent outings and continued his winning ways as overall winner of the latest Farrington Park Seniors’ Stableford with a gross 85 picking up 41 points.
As far as Divisions are concerned, in Division One winner Steve Hobbs (10) continues to impress on 38 points with Tony Waldron (13) in second spot on 36 points. Colin Glibbery (14) claimed third position with 35 points.
Division Two had overall winner Dave Brain (18) on 41 points, Martin Clark (21) was second, with 37 points, followed by Andy Smart (23) also on 37 points.
Winning Division Three, with 39 points, was Richard Collier (28) followed by Adrian Miller (29) with 37 points and Dave Perrett (28) in third spot with 35 points.
There were nine players who recorded a ‘2’ on their card and each will receive a few shillings to invest at the bar! Rob Thain
