On Sunday, the Stragglers entertained Worlebury in the first leg of this popular fixture. A later start than usual, we hoped for fair weather, but just after we started, the heavens opened and the putting green and several other areas were soon partially flooded. However, it wasn’t to last and within half an hour the rain stopped. We had a couple of new players and it appears they enjoyed themselves and we hope they appreciated the friendly yet competitive way we approach these games. We meet new players, get to enjoy other courses, raise a bit of money for our charity Heads Up, and laugh at Terry Pearce’s socks!
Overall, Wells triumphed 3–2 on the day, with Guy Timson winning nearest the pin on the 15th.
