The Senior Men played their Championships over two days, with the good condition of the course allowing some excellent scores. Tim Harris won the Cole Cup with the best gross score of 159. Mike Metcalfe and Dave Hayward were close on his heels with gross 161.
Trevor Jones won the Dalby Cup for the best nett score of 131, with Andrew Boatswain runner-up with nett-139.
There were eleven two-spots: Bill McCollum, Chris Betenson, Colin Webber (x2), George White, Peter Leverick, Andrew Boatswain, David Sheppard, Richard Hole, Nick Carter, Mike Magrath and Terry Searle.
The Ladies’ President’s Cup was played in perfect conditions with the run on the ball giving long-drives. Cath Levell set a high standard, finding fairways with ease and focusing right to the last with a birdie on the 18th. She finished with nett 66.
Jill Bocquet won the Silver Division and Kathy Lane won the Bronze Division. Sandy Heath birdied the 10th in two ways – she knocked a crow with her drive and then putted the ball down the hole!
