Despite the unwelcome arrival of the snow, there are nevertheless a couple of results to be reported from the past couple of weeks.
The Ladies held a ‘Three clubs and a putter’ nine-hole event which produced some fine scoring, particularly from the higher handicap group. Silver Division was won by Edwina Willis with twenty points, followed by Anita Butcher with eighteen and Libby Bellew with sixteen.
Andrea Williams won the Bronze Division with seventeen points, her second win in 2019, after countback, with Diane Stanton also on seventeen and Anne Collins third with fifteen. Copper Division was won by Allison Rumming with an excellent 21 points, with Caroline Simper second with twenty after countback from Eileen Masters.
The Pro Shop Stableford was won by Mark Necker with 41 points after countback from Sean Thatcher, with Simon Wynn third with 39, Nigel Cheshire fourth with 38 and Rob Hill fifth with 37, again after countback.
The following weekend, the Pro Shop event was a four-person team event won by the very strong team of David Cox, Alan O’Leary, Matt Lambert and Danny Middle, with 125 – well-clear of the very competitive team of Martin Wilkins, Nigel Brokenshire, Paul Drew and Michael Gardiner with 113.
The two Pro Shop Nearest the Pin competitions saw wins for P. Wood from Phil Butcher and Ellen Reakes and A. Matthews from J. Bisgrove and P. Jamieson.
