The last of Mendip’s Turkey Trot competitions took place, this time a Singles Stapleford, which attracted 87 entrants.

Scoring was not easy with the course playing long, following the continuing rainfall. However, this resulted in a very close-run affair with one point covering the top six scorers.

Winning with 37 points after a triple count back was Matt Lambert with Nick Cox 2nd and Wayne Spencer 3rd.

Again, a triple count-back on 36 gave Justin Barrow 4th place, with Michael Treasure 5th and Matt Horler 6th.

The ladies 9 hole Arizona Shuffle Bowmaker took place on a cold, but lovely sunny day. The Winning Team were Jan Fukuyama, Lulu Carolan, Margaret Allen with 36 points, beating on countback Lynn Cox, June Page, Liz Rose.

Coming in 3rd were Carol Mosley, Elaine Richardson and Sandie Roper with 35.

The Pro Shop Nearest the Pin competition saw a win for Tony Taylor with John Stembridge 2nd and John Ellis 3rd.
