To get the season underway, the rescheduled Ladies’ Captain vs Vice-Captain Challenge took place at Orchardleigh Golf Club on Thursday, 15th March under difficult course conditions following overnight heavy rain.
However, as the competition commenced, the sun came out, the wind dropped and it became a lovely spring day.
22 ladies formed the two teams playing a round of nine-hole individual Stableford. This was followed by lunch, where additional lady members joined in, making it a very enjoyable day for all who took part. The individual winners were: Pat Jones in first place with 16 points, Audrey Holland in second with 15 on count-back, and Kate Chadwick in third with 15.
For the second consecutive year, the trophy went to the Captain’s side, with a total of 126 points, while the Vice-Captain’s team scored 114 points.
