Rain continues to play havoc with the competitions in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club, but thanks to the efforts of the grounds staff, the February Medal was able to be played with just three temporary greens in operation.
It proved to be a successful outing for Malcolm Tucker, who won the event with a nett score of 57. Allen Cheney was second, with 59 and Graham Edgell a further shot behind on 60.
Rain forced the postponement of the Bill Lester Texas Scramble.
The Finals of the Guerwyn Thomas Trophy and the Winter League are still to be played.
In the Final of the Guerwyn Thomas Trophy, Paul Davies and Captain, Gerry Rowell, will meet Cyril Blacker and Brian Woodruff, while in the Winter League Final, Doug Lane will face Cheney. In the Semi-Finals, Lane beat Rowell and Cheney had the better of John Smart.
