THE Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club have managed to defy the inclement weather in November.

Gerry Rowell began the month in fine style, winning the November Medal with a nett 66. In second place came Mike Ricketts with a nett 68 with Martyn Cuer third on 70.

Overall, it was a very successful month for Ricketts but he couldn’t hold off the winner of the John Appleton Cup for over 75s, Seniors secretary Alan Jones, who won by a very impressive five shots. Jones, the youngest competitor, recorded a score of 34 Stableford points. Three players came in with scores of 29 points but after countback Ricketts finished second and Paul Ellis third with Mike Cole just missing out.

The Turkey Trot proved another profitable day for Cuer who alongside Anthony Gregory won with a fine nett61. Chris Champion and Shaun Goodwin came in two shots behind with Ricketts, again and John Cooper, third with a nett 64.
