The Captains’ Drive In went ahead at the second time of asking.

Eight-seven competitors and an assortment of spectators gathered at the first tee to watch Mike McKay, Katrina Foote, Phil Spring and Ashton Wylie drive off before a shotgun start in wonderful sunshine.

The three Senior Captains managed not to actually get it on the first fairway (call it nerves) but Ashton saved their bacon with one up the middle with his five iron.

Questions were asked about the suitability of the Canadian flag flying on the day but Mike McKay did cough up a fine for the offence!

There was a collection that went to the Captains’ Charity, St. Margaret’s Hospice. Thanks to you all for your generosity and to Alan for opening up early to dole out bacon rolls!
