With the temperatures in single digits and every conceivable garment of winter clothing on display, Farrington Seniors can safely say it is going to be a long slog until Spring arrives. Winter golf is always a challenge, with cold winds and gloomy skies to contend with, and that’s before you’ve hit a ball!
A non-qualifying Stableford competition was the order of the day. However, some players had not played sufficient qualifiers to retain their current handicap, so this was treated as a qualifier for a number of them.
With Steve Hobbs and Steve Brixey both maintaining their current good form, it was no surprise to see them top their respective divisions.
Division One: 1st Steve Hobbs, 2nd Don Perry, 3rd Alan Fussell, 4th Colin Glibbery, 5th Rick Clark. Division Two: 1st Steve Brixey, 2nd Keith Shepherd, 3rd Pete Barnes, 4th Phil Button, 5th Chris Liberty. Division Three: 1st Jeff Hodder, 2nd Steve Park, 3rd Andy Smart, 4th Geoff Cabral, 5th Steve Mitchell. Nearest the Pins: 8th Steve Hobbs, 14th Geoff Cabral, 15th Andy Smart. 2 spot: Colin Glibbery, Steve Hobbs, Andy Snook and Alan Taylor with two shares of the spoils.
