Henry Thomas was a late entrant for the Mark Bridges Cup in the Seniors’ section of Fosseway Golf Club, and then proceeded to dominate.
His total of 43 points in the Murphy’s Stableford saw him finish seven points clear of Competition Secretary, Brian Phelps. Mike Ricketts was third, with 35 points.
The latest social match away to Folke saw the Seniors suffer a 6–0 whitewash. Captain, Gerry Rowell and Frank Reeves lost 5&4, and there were 4&3 defeats for Cyril Blacker and John Williams and Nick Foxwell and Alan Jones. Newcomer, Alan White, paired up with Terry Button before losing 3&2, Allen Cheney and Ricketts lost 4&2, while Pat Cray and Vice-Captain, Martyn Cuer, were beaten 7&6.
