MENDIP Golf Club ran a successful Captains Day event, where competitors played in a two man Texas Scramble event.

The winners were Craig Robertson and Malcolm Srawley, who managed a net score of 60. In second place came Kevin Keene & Nick White, after a five way count back on 64, while Peter Hoddinott & Paul Panton came third.

The Ladies Alliance A Team unfortunately had their top four players missing when playing Worlebury, resulting in a heavy defeat with a single half earned by Jinhee Page.

The Seniors avenged the heavy defeat they sustained earlier in the season when they visited Long Ashton, the home match bringing a 5-1 win, points coming from Gareth Collier/Paul Godwin, Andy French/Keith Beasley, Phil Brocks/Nick Inskip and Simon Atkinson/David Pilbeam.

The Seniors Avalon Team had a handsome 5-0 home win against Weston with points from Simon Brand/Simon Atkinson, David Braithwaite/Tony Scott, Steve Davis/Tony George, Gary Quin/Paul Godwin and Dick Bull/Kevin Carmody.

This result ensured that they will be promoted to Division One as champions of Division Two.

101 Seniors played in the Kings Salver event which saw 28 Competitors equal or better 36 points, a par score. However, the overall winner and trophy holder was Gary Quin with 41 points.
