John Waters continued his impressive form in the Seniors section of Fosseway Golf Club when he captured the Ted Cottle Trophy for over-70s. His Stableford total of 43 points saw him defeat Gerry Rowell by one point with Denis White third with forty.

In the latest social match, Fosseway’s trip to Whitley saw them return with just half a point. In the 5.5–0.5 defeat the pairing of Allen Cheney and Cyril Blacker prevented a whitewash. Captain, John Appleton, suffered a rare setback, losing 3&2 alongside Rowell, a fate similarly suffered by John Bendle and Brian Phelps. Pat Cray and Bob Smith were beaten by 4&2, Mike Ricketts and George Underwood lost 6&5 while Frank Reeves and John Williams were defeated 7&6.
