The Stragglers played away at Tall Pines. First out was Steve Heath and Guy Timson. A tight match was fought out but the home side won. Second were Paul Hembury and Terry Searle, who was playing his first match for some time, but they succumbed, 5&4.

Third was John Baker and new recruit Richard Williams. Never behind, they gelled well together, and when the score was dormy three, Baker played an excellent chip on the par-four 16th which went in for an eagle, resulting in a convincing 4&2 win. Fourth out were Phil Kenworthy and Adam Holliday, and they came in with a creditable 2&1 win.

Last out were the left-handed pairing of Richard Mansfield and Gary Leigh. It seemed they were always ahead, but a spirited fight back by their opponents saw the match go all the way to the 18th, which they won one-up. So overall, the match was halved 3–3.

Wells Seniors lost to Enmore Park 2½-4½. There were good wins for Wells pairs, Chris Strickland and George White (5&3), and Mike Gee and Ged Ramsell (4&3). The others all fought valiantly, with Captain for the Day, Peter Leverick, and Dave Couzens achieving a well-deserved half.

In the match against Orchardleigh, Captain John Moxon and Mike Hiles had a particularly good day, winning 8&6, and Mike Gee and Allan Thompson won 6&5. Other Wells winners were Dave Hayward and Len Sweales, and Jock McKinven and Dave Szymanski (making his Seniors debut this year). Steve Bocquet and Piers Dalby narrowly lost on the last hole, and Allan Bancroft and Dave Couzens, and Peter Leverick and George West both taking their matches to the 17th.

The Dave Parsons Trophy saw Colin Webber first with an excellent 43 points. Second Dean Hamilton with 42 points, third was Peter Ramsay with forty points (after count-back) and fourth was Bernard Longstaff with forty points.
