The Men’s competition season is now underway, starting with a 123 Bowmaker Waltz at the weekend, where one score counts on the first hole, two scores on the second, three on the third and so on.
A full house enjoyed the dry weather with the winning combination of Adam Payne, Jamie Marklew and Richard Birch, coming in with a respectable 89 points. In second place were Nigel Goodwin, Michael Cundill and John Hurley, closely followed by Rob Swift, Stuart Austwick and Philip Slater.
The Ladies’ Dinner Night went with a swing, thanks to Ladies’ Captain, Kathy Lane. Winners of the Christmas Stableford were announced, with Erica Klim claiming first prize and Jill Bocquet runner-up. Sandy Heath won the Ladies’ England Golf Medal and will represent the club later in the year.
