The 12th Lundy Island Classic, held at Wells Golf Club, was played in warm sunny conditions between Christmas and New Year.
A large number of members enjoyed the fresh air and exercise, with Bill McCollum and Vic Burgoyne showing everyone how it should be done, winning with an amazing 43 points. Glynis Slater and Richard Birch were close behind in second place with 42 points.
The four ball better ball event was organised by Tim Taylor with help from Kevin Bartlett and others and £450 was raised for good causes. Fines were imposed on unsuspecting players for very little reason, including Mike Metcalfe for losing a ball. The winner of the Heads and Tails competition was Phil Key and a lovely meal was provided by Alan Precious and his staff.
