The Christmas Shotgun was held on a mainly dry day, with even a hint of sunshine!
The bowmaker format was enhanced with all four scores to count on par 3s, and one team certainly took advantage of that: Steve and Jill Bocquet, Neil Blake and Sue Hockey all scored three points, giving them twelve points on the tenth (eleven points on the seventh).
Quite a few golfers contributed four points on one hole – 21 in fact, but Andy Hambleton did one better and scored five points for his team on the eighth! There were six two spots during the day, and all these great scores achieved whilst the ground is quite soft.
Winning with a magnificent score of 102 points were John Sheppard, Jon Mackness, Alan Obern and Simon Elliott.
In second place were Cliff Hopkins, Ian Baldwin, Neil Hawkins and Ron Gay, followed by Martin Barnes, Colin Mantle, Vic Burgoyne and Colin Payne.
Prize monies will be credited to your gold cards.
A special round of applause went to Steve and Aidan Guy, Simon Harris and Richard Williams for starting at the eighth tee and finishing on the seventh.
If they use gadgets for tracking steps, they would have far more than most of us that day!
Warren Hamilton was admired for his attire.
