The Mid-Somerset Football League is pleased to announce the appointment of their new Pick of The League Managers, Coleford duo, Les Allen and Neil Craddock. Their first job will be to pick a team for the Mavis Tate Semi-Final on March 18th against the Weston-super-Mare and District League, being played at the new 3G pitch at Bridgwater Academy.
Coleford continued their impressive run, making it thirteen games in the Premier League without losing and just dropping one point. It was not easy, with them just managing to beat Westfield away, 3–2.It looks as if Welton Arsenal are at last getting their act together, beating Wells A at home, 5–1. In the First Division, Frome Collegians went back to the top, with a 5–1 victory away to Evercreech. Scorers were Jack Bidlescombe (3), Ben Hawkins and James Baron.
Temple Cloud stayed in second place with another good win, 4–0, against Glastonbury Reserves. High Littleton got their second win in the league this season, winning 4–0 away to Westfield A. Their goalscorers were Dexter Neil, Sam Sharp (2) and Arron Alford and in a really tight game at Purnell Sports Reserves, Peasedown took all three points, winning 2–1.
The Second Division leaders, Westhill, continue their good run, beating Coleford Reserves, 5–0, scorers, Arron Seviour, (3), Rod Lidford and Nathan Townsley. Mells Reserves had a very good win, 6–1, at home against Pensford Reserves and climb up to fourth in the league and Frome Town Sports Reserves played out a 2–2 draw at home to Chilcompton Reserves.
In the Third Division, Chilcompton United move up the league with a 5–1 win away to bottom team, Pilton Reserves, and Saltford Reserves beat Baltonsborough Reserves at home, 4–2.
Radstock A, after their disappointment the previous week losing to Coleford in the KO Cup, won last Saturday, 8–1, against Chilcompton Sports A, which takes them into the semi-final of the Paulton Hospital Cup, where they will meet either Victoria or AFC Brislington.
The Mid-Somerset Charity Cup Round Two saw Farrington Reserves move into the Third Round with a 3–1 home victory against Pilton, thanks to a hat-trick from Alex Short. Mells also went through, going all the way at Third Division Chew Reserves, eventually getting home, 4–3.
