The final Ladies competition of 2014 was a Bowmaker played in teams of three, with two scores to count on each hole and all scores multiplied on the par three holes.
The winners were Clare Salter, June Symonds and Margaret Seery, with 127 points. Second were Trish Rouse, Anne Mortimore and Kay Clarke, with 85 points, and third were Lin Papadopollous, Heather Woodland and Clare Salter.
The prize for the most festively dressed team went to Jackie Hobbs, Rosi Brown and Maureen Tayler, who all looked fantastic. Linda Rogers and Lin Papadopollous also deserve a mention for their outfits, too. There were two two spots, June Symonds on the tenth and Liz Thomas on the eighth (nearly a hole in one).
For the third week running, the Ladies Saturday
qualifying Stableford competition was played in sunny weather after a foggy start. Seven ladies played, sharing a number of pars on various holes, but the course refused to give anyone a two spot. Gail Proctor and Corinne Durbin continued their good form from last week, swapping around their finishing positions. This week, Gail was first, with 35 points, and Corinne took third, with 31, Clare Salter's 32 points secured second place.
Farrington Park Seniors
Farrington Park Seniors played their final competition of 2014 prior to the Christmas break with the next match due in January 2015. The format was Texas Scramble and the weather was foul, yet 54 hardy golfers took part.
