Paulton Rover's striker, Nick McCootie, has stepped up to the Conference League after leaving the club to join Bath City.
The move was announced on Friday, 19th September. McCootie has gained international attention since playing for Paulton Rovers, with interest from the Spanish League, which unfortunately fell through.
Paulton Rovers Manager, Nick Bunyard, said: "McCootie has generated a lot of interest with his performances over the last eighteen months and after a move to a Spanish League side in the summer fell through at the last minute, we were delighted to keep hold of him despite interest from several Conference clubs.
"Nick has improved an enormous amount since he signed from Cinderford Town, two and a bit years ago, and he's still got plenty of scope to improve further, which is great news for Bath. We are naturally disappointed to lose a key player and someone I've thoroughly enjoyed working with and he will leave with our best wishes and safe in the knowledge he's written himself into the history of Paulton Rovers football club, with his contribution to not only our first Somerset Premier Cup win, but also our promotion to the Southern League Premier Division for the first time in the club's history. I'm sure the fans will always remember his phenomenal performances and two goals away at Tiverton Town in the semi-final and his brace in the final against Merthyr Town.
"Nick will be hard to replace, but we'll endeavour to do that as quickly as possible."
