CARNVALE Tennis Club were pleased to accept a kind invitation from Purnells Bowls Club, with the two adjoining sports clubs coming together for an afternoon of bowls and skittles followed by a ‘shared buffet’.
The bowls club, as previously during the summer, were gracious hosts, and made everyone feel welcome. It was a great opportunity for tennis club members and guests to try out the bowls club’s excellent indoor rinks. Tuition was given by bowls club members and some light-hearted matches followed.
There was also the chance in the bowls club’s spacious lounge area to play skittles. Again this was great fun. Played as a singles knockout competition with some skilful play on show.
To end the afternoon there was a lovely ‘shared buffet’ with sandwiches, quiches and cakes etc. provided by those attending; liquid refreshment also being made available.
