WELLS City Archers (WCA) now have a UK champion in their membership.

Richard Gregory took part in the Archery Great Britain (AGB) National Championships earlier this month and became the National 50+ Longbow Champion for 2026.

Richard, originally from Yorkshire, took up archery in 2019 and started specialising in the Longbow in the Spring of 2024.

He joined Wells City Archers in 2023 and has been a rising star at the club, taking part in a variety of county and national competitions and is currently ranked in the top 10 in the UK for Longbow.

Over the last 12 months he has spent roughly 10 hours per week refining his skills at the club’s outdoor and indoor range.
