Radstock’s Ross Whittock has just completed a full week of preparation and event reconnaissance in time to compete for the first time in the World Championship event, Wales Rally GB. He will be co-driving for his usual driver, Jamie Anderson, in the Anderson Commercials R5 specification 4WD Ford Fiesta.

The event will run over three days out of North Wales, starting on Friday morning, with the finish late afternoon on Sunday. The event attracts the best drivers and manufacturers in the world as a round of the World Championship. Ross said: “This is an enormous challenge to get a good result as a private entry, but we both like the gravel special stages and have worked hard over the last two weekends testing the car.

“For this event, we have changed tyre manufacture to D-MACK, who have helped us a lot so far, as we are limited to the number of tyres we can use. It was 39 years ago when my dad made his debut on this event, so I cannot wait to be part of it.”
