The Magpies goal after only two minutes sealed matters, although Paulton were denied what looked like two clear-cut penalties. With virtually the first attack, Rovers gave the ball away and right back, Sam Lanahan, pressed on to slip the ball past Kyle Phillips.

Brad Abraham fed Liam Monelle, who hit the crossbar and with no-one following up, Town cleared the danger. Ben Watson was lively up front for the visitors and his firm shot was parried by Phillips and Dan Smith mishit the ball, which fell into the hands of a grateful Phillips. With half-time looming, Watson got down the left and laid the ball to Lewis Morgan, whose thunderous shot was brilliantly saved by Phillips. He then saved with his feet from Smith's half-volley.

Rovers started the second half brightly and left back, Sam Teale, brought a fingertip save from keeper, Alan Walker-Harris, from a free kick. Then Rovers had their first shout for what looked a certain penalty, when Dorchester Player-Manager, Mark Jermyn, handled from Ashley Williams' shot. On 72 minutes, a second penalty appeal was waved away as Abraham's shot was pushed away.

Town added a second on 88 minutes, as Scott Brice sliced a long ball, Phillips charged out of goal to clear, but Jason Brookes beat him to the ball and laid it to Tarbuck, who tapped into an empty goal. In injury time, Paulton pulled a goal back as the ball swirled around in the area and Teale turned to clip the ball past Walker-Harris.

The Youth Team concluded the season with a 1–0 defeat at home to Welton Rovers. The Sunday XI reached the final of the Secretary's Cup, winning 1–0 over FC Brewhouse. In the Cup Final to be played at Bath City's Twerton Park on Tuesday, 5th May, kick-off at 7.30 p.m., they will play another Fourth Division side, GT Sports Reserves. The First Team's last game of a very successful first season in the Evostik Southern Premier League is a trip to play-off side, Hungerford Town, kick-off at 3 p.m. Paulton know they will finish in tenth place with at least 64 points, whereas Hungerford, who have 76 points, could finish as high as fourth.

Scott Wilson is suspended and Liam Monelle's loan spell from Bristol City has ended, so Manager, Nick Bunyard, only has one striker available in Mitchell Page.
