Midsomer Norton 50 Cheltenham North 19

Norton continued their fine form with a comfortable 8-try victory over Cheltenham North.

The game was effectively won in the opening twenty-five minutes as Norton raced into an early lead and secured a bonus point with it. Number eight Joey Button opened the scoring from the back of a scrum just before Rideout added a second in the corner. The tries kept coming as Schuster powered over before Taylor finished in the corner after Norton went down the blind side.

However, after this initial flurry of tries Cheltenham fired a couple of warning shots. Some sloppy play and poor tackling from the home side gave the North a try on each side of the half time break.

Norton settled though and Schuster scored his second after taking a quick penalty and Button once again finished from the back of a scrum. Hugh Jefferey finally got himself on the score sheet before the away side got a third. The match finished Norton got their eighth try when Taylor crossed the whitewash after a powerful run.

The victory keeps Norton in third position ahead of a trip to Chipping Sodbury on Saturday.
