Midsomer Norton 3rd XV 57-0 Frome 3rd XV

The Thirds had an excellent victory over local rivals Frome on Saturday. Star performer for the home side was centre, Kieran Humphries, who scored six tries and kicked four conversions in a very productive afternoon.

The half back pairing of Dan Moon and Jon Swift controlled the game expertly and it was Swift who opened the scoring. Following some good interplay he sold a dummy and went in under the posts.

More good back play allowed winger, Ben Penney, to increase the lead soon after. Next on the scoresheet was lock, Ollie Nash, who rounded off some excellent team interplay.

Norton were strong up front and Joe Pearce put in a strong performance on his senior debut to bolster the back row. Prop Jamie Day also made a very encouraging first start of the season.

From there on Humphries dominated proceedings, scoring a number of tries from long range.

Replacement Harry Smith chipped in with two conversions to seal the win.

This weekend, the Thirds entertain Tor Seconds, with a 2.30 pm kick-off.
