THE snooker section of Radstock & District Billiards & Snooker League ran smoothly with no matches having to be postponed, which was a tribute to all the players who took part.
A total of 220 matches were played in the competitive league season; only 12 points separated champions Clandown B and 8th place Haydon C. This is one of the tightest in recent years and congratulations must go to Clandown B on a successful campaign to win the league by 13 points - and a 70% win record as a team for the season. They also won the KO Cup.
Nine of the eleven teams had a 50% or better win ratio, the most in recent times and proof of how competitive the league is.
There were a total of 68 players who played at least one league game and 41 breaks of 20 or more.
It was a very competitive season for the billiards section in the league which went down to the final game with Clandown managing to win the title (the handicap system working well).
Lee Jorden enjoyed a tremendous season. He achieved the highest break in competition snooker with 126 and was also named Player of the Year in the Billiards section.
