CARNVALE Tennis Club had to dodge the showers as they welcomed their friends from the Pensford club for a friendly match between the two clubs on Sunday, April 12.
Men’s, ladies and mixed doubles matches were played throughout the afternoon in good spirits with an element of competition. Off court there was lots of socialising and refreshments provided.
Thanks go to Pensford for being such amicable guests and they will be welcome back anytime for some more friendlies in the future.
A Carnvale club spokesperson said: “We are rapidly approaching the beginning of the Avon Summer League in early May.
“Both our men’s teams are preparing for another exciting season and hopefully a successful one! Camvale is a very friendly club with community right at its very heart.
“We aim to provide excellent facilities for everyone to enjoy and at a cost accessible to all. Come join us and be a part of the fun, with discounts available on your first year fees, there has never been a better time join, with our membership year just beginning.
“We are also fundraising to aid the installation of a defibrillator, known as an AED (Automated External Defibrillator) to be installed on the exterior of our clubhouse as our duty of care to our members, visitors and local community, should anyone require lifesaving equipment in their desperate time of need.
“As a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) we are seeking donations to support our efforts to install the AED.
