IT’S been a busy couple of months at Camvale Tennis Club. With two men’s teams participating in the Avon Summer League. The first team, playing in Division 5 against strong opponents, finished in 3rd place with a very respectable points total, just missing out on promotion.
The second team, playing in Division 7, enjoyed some fantastic results and in this team it was a chance for players who are maybe a bit short of league tennis experience to give it a go.
All of members who played for the teams did so in great spirit and showcased some real talent.
The club are very fortunate and grateful to have sponsors, each of them sponsoring a match-day throughout the summer season. If you are interested in becoming a partner of Camvale, please email [email protected]
There are also plenty of opportunities for Ladies to play socially. Ladies’ Club Night is held every Thursday from 7pm. If you would like to give tennis a go for the first time or haven’t played for a while, pop down and you will be made to feel at home. All abilities are welcome.
Camvale also hosts Club Nights on a Tuesday evening which is Mixed and a Men’s Club Night on Wednesdays.
The club have undertaken a huge fundraising effort to upgrade out-dated floodlights to modern, energy efficient LED Lights and that through reaching out to the local community and businesses have been able to reach the target of over £18k. Work to replace the lights is scheduled for this coming autumn and everyone at the club cannot wait to enjoy the new lighting. This ensures the club can provide a year round tennis experience to the local community and beyond.
