Their total in the Triples Stableford must be one of the best ever in the event. In another year Gerry Rowell, Rex Wyatt and John Williams would have been confident of claiming the trophy, but they had to settle for second place with another impressive total of 94 points. Alan White, Bert Austin and Roger Knowles were third with 88 points.

The gruesomes competition is an event almost unique to Fosseway and can be one of the most frustrating for golfers. Played in pairs, both players tee off and the accompanying pair choose which shot they wish the players to use. A fine drive down the middle of the fairway is unlikely to be of much use.

Nick Foxwell and Malcolm Tucker came out on top in the Broadway and Smith Cup event with a nett total of 62. Chris Appleton and Mike Weeks were second with a nett 64, with Brian Phelps and George Thurston third on 66.

The Seniors section of Fosseway were sad to hear of the death of one of its most prominent members, Jack Curtis. Jack, his brother Reg and Bill Lester were always the first to tee off in the morning and Jack will be much missed.

Everyone in the Seniors send their condolences to the family.
