The recent Chilcompton Society Flower Show was considered one of the best ever, with increased entries in every section - a total of one hundred and seventy five more than last year.

The committee was heartened that thirty two people tried their hand for the first time; Lynn Plumley and Kelly Upton shared the newcomers’ cup, and Lorraine Candy was runner up.

Stars of the show were Bert and Josie Boxall who won the family cup with Josie becoming overall show winner, just one point ahead of Alison Jukes.

The children did really well too putting on a good display of imaginative exhibits.

Cookery – Alison Jukes

Hobbies/crafts – Helen Thorne

Stratton Cup – Barbara Jones

Gardening Club Cup – Sylvia Rogers

Arthur Hambly Award – Debbie Slater.

The committee was delighted to see the community coming together and putting on a wonderful display of produce, flowers and baking, but sadly this year just one Stratton entrant.
