A MAN died and another was injured in a road accident involving a lorry and a van yesterday afternoon (Thursday, August 20) on the A37 in Ston Easton near Midsomer Norton.
A collision occurred after a lorry, with a crane attached, overturned at 2.25pm.
Avon and Somerset Police said a man in his 30s who was a passenger in the van died at the scene of the crash. His family have been informed, and they are being supported by a specially-trained officer.
The van driver was taken to hospital with injuries that are not believed to be life-threatening. The driver of the lorry was uninjured.
The A37 High Street was closed overnight to allow collision investigation work to be completed and will need to remain shut for some time further due to the complex recovery work required and likely repairs needed to the highway.
