The newest local provider of high-speed fibre-optic broadband is hosting a public event in Peasedown St John with the village’s Residents’ Association.

TrueSpeed provides ultrafast Internet service connectivity via a fibre optic link directly to your home or business premise. They have begun work in Peasedown St John, with a new connection box being installed in Wellow Lane.

Neil Rogers, TrueSpeed Community Engagement Manager for the Somer Valley, said: “TrueSpeed is at the technical forefront of data communications in the UK and the world. Our Fibre-To-The-Property installations offer fast, reliable and state of the art internet connection. We offer speeds from 200Mb/s to 10Gb/s.”

The organisation has been working with B&NES Council on its new Community Libraries initiative. Geoff Fenton, Vice-Chairman of Peasedown St John Residents’ Association, said: “We met up with the team at TrueSpeed recently to discuss plans to install their internet at St John’s Community Hall. The Hall currently hosts a number of community groups, a new play-group and will soon be home to Peasedown’s new community library.

“We are discussing with TrueSpeed the option of providing a free internet service for any users of the Hall and the Library.”
