On Tuesday 4th June, Jim Plunkett-Cole (or Jim Gump, as he is mostly known), came to Welton Primary School to launch our Move a Mile initiative.

He led a whole school assembly sharing wonderful stories about the adventures he has had, whilst undertaking some amazing active, outdoor adventures – mostly focused on running.

He shares these stories in the hopes of inspiring the next generation not just to run, but to be active, go outside and to see how beautiful nature can be. The children were very inspired and then enjoyed running around our school site with Jim whilst cheering each other on.

Over the next term, Welton children will be getting outdoors, socialising with friends and challenging themselves to beat goals they have set for themselves!

Welton want to thank Jim for a wonderful morning and now can’t wait to get out there and get active!
