NATURE and art combine this September for a Walk and Draw creative nature walk.

The gentle walk from Radstock up Waterside Valley and Haydon Batch, a distance of about three miles, is offering the chance to explore the magic found in nature’s nooks and crannies.

Led by the Somer Valley Ramblers, the walk will pause often for sketch-booking and moments of observation along the way. Basic paper and pencils will be provided or participants can bring their own sketchbook and drawing tools.

It’s a chance to get curious about flora, fungi, to just take notice, explore, and respond; the event is about slowing down, unwinding, exploration and creativity, with fresh air, a pencil in hand, and some good chatter.

Somer Valley Ramblers Secretary Tessa Wyatt said: “Somer Valley Ramblers are excited to lead five varied walks from Radstock on Sunday, September 13.

“It's always a joyous time to see so many people enjoying the wonderful countryside and parks around the Somer Valley area, and finishing the event with refreshments and a chat.”

The walking route is on uneven terrain of a gravel and grass footpaths, some sloping sections and is intended for adults only with dogs left at home.

Booking is needed via Eventbrite to secure a place on the walk which starts at 9am and will last about two hours. Parking is available at the Church Street car park with the walk starting from SWALLOWS Cafe in Restock.

The walk is part of the Somer Valley Walking Festival which is holding events across three days in September for people of all abilities from seasoned hikers to those just preferring a gentle stroll.
